Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
There are several ways you can report a concern about a child in our school.
During school hours, you can:
-
Speak with your child’s class teacher or another member of staff at drop-off or collection.
-
Phone the school and ask to speak with a member of the Senior Leadership Team or a Designated Safeguarding Lead on 01293 533198.
-
Email the school office at office@seymour-tkat.org.
Outside of school hours:
If your concern requires a response outside normal school hours, the following options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:
-
If someone is at immediate risk of significant harm, call the Police on 999.
-
For non-urgent matters relating to the wider community, contact the Police on 101.
-
If your concern is specific to a child or young person, contact West Sussex Children’s Services on 01403 229900 or email WSChildrenServices@westsussex.gov.uk.
-
Children and young people can contact Childline on 0800 1111 for free, confidential advice and support.
-
Adults worried about a child can speak to a trained counsellor at the NSPCC by calling 0808 800 5000.
-
Professionals with concerns about a child in the workplace can contact the NSPCC Whistleblowing Advice Line on 0800 028 0285.
If you have raised a concern with any of the organisations listed above (other than the school), please also inform a member of the School Safeguarding Team as soon as possible so we can ensure appropriate follow-up and support.
