Safeguarding Curriculum

At Seymour Primary School we ensure that all our children feel secure, listened to and have the opportunities to talk whenever needed. Throughout our curriculum, we provide lessons and opportunities that equip our children with the tools to stay safe and develop essential skills for life.

Keeping our children safe is our top priority at Seymour, so we feel it is vital to teach safeguarding through our curriculum.

Our PSHE curriculum aims to equip them to lead safe, happy and healthy lives, to embrace the opportunities open to them, to aim high, and to be empowered to keep themselves safe, know their rights and responsibilities and know where and how to ask for help when needed.

Online Safety:

At Seymour we understand that as technology develops and becomes embedded in our way of life and everyday the children we teach access the internet more and more. Ensuring our children are using the internet securely and safely is at the up most importance. The internet is a wonderful resource for the children to use, however with this comes risk and it is important for children and parents to be aware of the risks and ways to ensure they are using the internet safely.

Our Computing curriculum introduces our children to using the internet safely, including the use of social media and teachers use every opportunity to facilitate discussions with the children about how they can stay safe online.
