Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is intended to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers, by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Schools also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel.

Our intention is that all pupils, irrespective of their background or the challenges they face, make good progress and achieve high attainment across all subject areas. The focus of our pupil premium strategy is to support disadvantaged pupils to achieve that goal, including progress for those who are already high attainers. Our aim is for our disadvantaged pupils to achieve as well as non disadvantaged pupils nationally. We want our disadvantaged pupils to experience and enjoy every opportunity that all our pupils are offered so that they have an enriching time that they remember.

An outline of how the school is using the Pupil Premium is given below. This also includes a review of the impact of the school’s Pupil Premium strategy for 2023/2024.

If you feel that you may be eligible for free school meals then please contact the school office who can assist you with your application.
